Sargents is located on the west side of Monarch Pass on HWY 50. Trails are
intermediate and advanced due to the length of some trails. There are
numerous bail out points along the way that can shorten the ride. I plan on
60+/- miles on Saturday and 35+/- miles on Sunday. Dispersed camping is
available off the Marshall Pass road or near the Long Branch trailhead. We
will meet at the Tomichi Creek Campground in Sargents each morning at 9am
and be on the trail by 930. The campground has tent sites, rv sites and
cabins. There is also a bar/grill open for breakfast and dinner. Plan on
lunch on the trail.

Possible ride route: National Geographic Map 139- La Garita/Cochetopa Hills
Saturday:
Leave Tomichi Creek, head west on trail 491 to Hicks gulch south, north on
deadman gulch to left hand trail, right hand, barret park, then east on
upper razor creek to sergeants mesa and back on big bend.
Sunday:
Big Bend trail, continental divide trail over marshal pass and back down on
Agate Creek. From the agate creek trailhead there is about 2-3 miles back
on HWY 50 to Tomichi Creek. I ride without a plate but it is up to you.

intermedite to expert. Trails can be compared to Taylor Park. The trails
are well marked and mapped. An easier route can be made if someone wants to
lead a group. I will be staying at the Tomichi Creek trading post. They
have cabins, tent and rv sites. There is also a store and resturant/bar.
Please let me know if you plan on attending.
