June 17, 2006 Redfeather Ride
To get to the staging area:
- Take hwy 287 North of Ft. Collins
- Turn west on the Red Feather lakes road 74E.
- Just Past the turn off to Redfeather lakes, take a
left on CR 162.
- You will drive several miles south, past Bellaire
lakes, past the Bald mountain road (USFS 517?).
- Take a right on USFS Road 171. We will be parked in
the open area a few hundred yards up the road. Approximate GPS coordinates
are N40 45.011 W105 37.126
The ride will start at 10am. Bring plenty of food and
water.
We will be riding up the Swamp Creek Cutoff trail and down
the Killpecker trail. These are fairly technical, rocky trails (not recommended
for beginners).
